Shalimar, a timeless love story

In a province of India, a long time ago, Emperor Shah was madly in love with his beautiful, Princess Muntaz Mahal . He wanted to create something to match this love, so that it would remain immortal. This is how he designed the lush gardens of Shalimar, the showcase of their love. On the death of his wife, the emperor dedicated the gardens of Shalimar and the beautiful Taj Mahal to him… It is this extraordinary story that inspired Jacques Guerlain to create the mythical “Shalimar”. Deliciously carnal, Shalimar is the world’s first oriental fragrance. Today, “Shalimar Souffle de parfum” moves with its tenderness and gentleness. Shalimar’s iconic bottle is back. It is revisited in a new setting. It is indeed, dressed in a magnificent blue gradient while transparency and intensity. The delicacy of the color echoes that of the perfume. The name of the perfume is signed in gold letters for more modernity. Its case is also unique because it illustrates the gardens of Shalimar… Touching and deliciously delicate.

Created in 1925, Shalimar entered the legend of Guerlain perfumes. Although adored by many women, Guerlain wanted to revisit Shalimar. This new composition “Shalimar Souffle de parfum” is more tender. Incredibly modern, “Shalimar, Souffle de parfum” has nevertheless managed to keep its classic frame, the one that women love so much.

Released in 2014, “ Shalimar Souffle de Parfum ”is of course a revisit of the very legendary perfume produced by Jacques Guerlain“ Shalimar ”. Created in 1925, “Shalimar” is the olfactory representation of an eternal, immortal, unique love. Its oriental scent amazes and captivates all women. Thierry Wasser at the helm of the revisiting of the scent legend Shalimar

Thierry Wasser is the 5th generation of perfumers from the Guerlain house, but he is above all the first not to bear the name “Guerlain”. If all of these predecessors are all called Guerlain, it is therefore only for his great talent that Thierry Wasser was chosen. Refined, rare and elegant, Thierry Wasser is also considered “a genius”. He possesses astonishing olfactory faculties like Jean-Paul Guerlain, with whom he had a father-son relationship. It was in 2008 that the Guerlain brand appointed Thierry Wasser as the head of Guerlain perfumes. When asked how a perfume is born, Thierry Wasser says, “A perfume is born from an impact, comes from an anecdote. It’s not something that is premeditated … ”. We owe to Thierry Wasser fabulous olfactory successes such as “Idylle, La Petite Robe Noire, Le Plus Beau Jour de ma vie” by Guerlain or “Hypnose” by Lancôme.

The luminous heart of Shalimar Souffle perfume de Parfum

Thierry Wasser has chosen to start his composition with the lively and fresh notes of citrus fruits such as bergamot, lemon and tangerine. & nbsp; Mainly cultivated in Italy, in the province of Reggio di Calabria, bergamot is the fruit of the bergamot tree. Admittedly, little is known about bergamot, its botanical name or its exact origin. We know that it is a spherical citrus fruit that looks like an orange, but with the color of lemon. The skin is also rougher and thicker than other citrus fruits. Bergamot cannot be eaten, its essential oil is extracted, mainly for perfumery. It gives off fresh, sweet, sweet, floral and slightly peppery tones. Then, the heart of “Shalimar Souffle de Parfum” is filled with white flowers, more particularly sambac jasmine from India and orange blossom absolute. Along with the rose, jasmine is one of the most used flowers in perfumery. With its opulent scent, jasmine is a very feminine flower. Originally from the Himalayas, jasmine is now mainly cultivated in Grasse, but also in India and Italy. Its name comes from the Persian “Yasmin” which means “gift from God”. In perfumery, jasmine offers very floral, vanilla and sweet scents. Finally, the base of “Souffle de Shalimar” is sensual thanks to the presence of vanilla and white musks. The precious nectar is contained in the iconic bottle of “Shalimar”. It is tinted for the occasion with a gradient blue, a symbol of softness.
